Outline of the Programme:
The overall objective of the project is the reduction of poverty and the increase of food security in Sierra Leone through better governance and increased agricultural productivity and diversification.
The purposes are:
With the provision of Technical Assistance:
- The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security (MAFFS) and the research and educational institutions are strengthened in their capacity to drive the change towards a sustainable, diversified and environmental friendly agriculture.
- The incomes generated by export crops (cocoa, coffee and cashew) increase
- Diversified agricultural production and proper livestock management contribute substantially to the food security in the Country.
Qualifications and Skills:
·Master's degree (or equivalent academic qualification) or Bachelor's degree with additional 3 years of professional experience in Agronomics Sciences or a directly relevant discipline.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
· Good knowledge of PCM and M&E
· Proven record of accomplishment of professional experience in TA project in rural
development and food security
· Proven record of accomplishment of professional experience in multicultural teams of
specialists.
· Working knowledge of standard software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
General Professional Experience:
At least 6 years of professional experience in developing (longer experience is considered an
added advantage).
· Experience in cooperation with similar stakeholders of the BAFS project is considered an
added advantage.
Specific Professional Experience:
· At least 3 years of professional experience as agronomic specialist in developing countries
project.
Preferred additional experience giving added advantage:
Working experience in Western/Sub-Saharan Africa; number of years of experience working in the field
*Length of the project: 48 Months*
Start Date: January 2017
Project Location: Freetown, Sierra Leone with travel in country as required.
