DAI is looking for a Chief of Party for the Urban Adaptation Financing. It is expected to be a five-year program beginning in late 2017. The position will be based in Bangkok, with regional travel to other countries in SE and possibly South Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall strategic, managerial and technical direction for the project to help ensure its success.
- Coordinate and be ultimately responsible for all data collection, monitoring, report generation, evaluation and related tasks.
- Maintain responsibility for the design, quality, development and completion of all assessments, analytical reports and evaluations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with USAID and local Asian counterparts to ensure effective coordination of project activities with relevant ministries and agencies, civil
- society and private sector organizations, international donor institutions, various project
- stakeholders, and other USAID and U.S. government-funded initiatives
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the M&E system at the activity level and ensuring that all activities are monitored and evaluated.
- Supervise key personnel and other technical and operations staff.
Qualifications:
· Advanced degree in a relevant field;
- Minimum of ten years of relevant experience leading and managing complex development programs and diverse teams;
- Experience leading/managing donor-funded programs focused on sustainable urban development, climate change adaptation and/or urban financing and institutional capacity building in developing countries, preferably in Southeast or South Asia;
- Significant technical understanding of the challenges that countries and cities face related to climate vulnerability analysis, and the prioritizing, planning and financing of actions to strengthen resilience to climate change;
- Previous Chief of Party and/or senior management experience required, with USAID experience strongly preferred;
- Experience managing regional projects, strengthening regional cooperation and demonstrated ability to work closely with host-country governments;
- Proven interpersonal skills and exceptional oral communication skills;
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity;
- Fluency in English, including good writing skills.
