Chief of Party
DAI is an international development company. For more than 45 years, we have worked on the frontlines of international development, tackling fundamental social and economic development problems caused by inefficient markets, ineffective governance, and instability. Currently, DAI is delivering results in about 80 countries. Our clients include international development agencies, international lending institutions, private corporations and philanthropies, and national governments.
DAI seeks a Chief of Party for the anticipated $25-50 million USAID-funded Burma Economic Reform Activity. The goal of this project will be to advance economic governance and reforms to support Myanmar’s political and economic transformation, and to stimulate sustained economic growth throughout the country through policy reforms and investments. This would be a full-time position, based in Yangon, Burma, for the full project term.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall vision, leadership and guidance of the project’s implementation for project staff in Burma, partnering organizations, host government, other donors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure quality monitoring and evaluation, regularly evaluate project results, and guide project implementation to achieve maximum impact.
- Oversee management of subcontracts/grants with international and local organizations to ensure full project integration and that deliverable targets are met.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of annual work plans, regular progress reports, and achievement of program results to USAID.
- Oversee the project’s financial compliance and procedures, ensuring compliance with established DAI’s accounting principles and USAID regulations.
- Coordinate regularly with DAI headquarter and represent the organization at relevant events and meetings with Burma government officials and the donor community.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience as a Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party on an international program of similar size and complexity;
- Experience managing, designing, and implementing technical assistance activities in developing/transitioning countries, preferably on economic reform programs in Southeast Asia.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: business enabling environment, economics, law, economic reform and integration, economic governance, and international private sector development;
- Ability to liaise and navigate effectively with USG agencies, host country government officials, private sector stakeholders, and other donors;
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in economics, law, business administration, finance, public policy, or a related field;
- Experience with USAID programs and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations;
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Fluency in English required.
