Background: DAI is an international consulting firm headquartered in the United States with a branch office recently opened in Malaysia. DAI is accepting applications from candidates for positions on the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Transitions Initiatives (OTI)-funded Malaysia Reform Initiative (MARI) project. The MARI project works closely with the Government of Malaysia and civil society counterparts toward three objectives:
- Support the Government’s implementation of priority reforms;
- Facilitate civic engagement in the reform process;
- Develop and strengthen media freedom.

Position: The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer will report to the Chief of Party, and will work closely with the program’s Program Development Officers.
Responsibilities: The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer will:
- Recommend practical tools and methodologies to aggregate data from a variety of sources and report out on it.
- Undertake field visits to project sites.
- Conduct periodic and systematic data collection and analysis of project results indicators, in conjunction with relevant project staff.
- Contribute to reports on progress on results indicators and assist staff in preparation or other program reports as needed.
- Assist with program-level evaluation.
- Travel to remote areas and work independently to monitor activities, if required.
- Assist in translating M&E findings into success stories and other social media products.
- Assist with grants or purchase orders needed for external project evaluators.
- Other Duties assigned by the Chief of Party that are consistent with the overall focus of the assignment.
Qualifications:
- University degree in political science, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum three years of professional experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated analytical and assessment skills (including primary research and mixed-methods analysis).
- Dynamic personality with demonstrated creativity and a willingness to learn.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office suite) required.
- Relevant experience working in media, civil society, activism or government in a related role preferred.
- Experience with grants or small grants under contract programs preferred.
- English language fluency required.
