Compliance Officer

Background: DAI is an international consulting firm headquartered in the United States with branch offices in Mozambique. DAI is accepting CVs from candidates for a Compliance Officer for the USAID Office of Transitions Initiatives (OTI)-funded Mozambique program.

Position: The Compliance Officer ensures compliance of all programmatic and operations activities in all offices. The position reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Party-Operations (DCOP-Ops) and will be based in Pemba, Mozambique. This is a local hire position and applicants must have the legal right to work in Mozambique.

Responsibilities: The Compliance Officer will:

  • Monitor procurement, finance, administration and program processes as a means to identify and/or prevent possible violations including fraud, conflict of interest, or other violations of the ethical and moral duties of DAI staff.

  • Provide compliance training to project staff, including fraud prevention and reporting.

  • Actively respond to allegations of misconduct.

  • Identify potential areas of financial vulnerability that are high risk; develop/implement practical corrective action plans to resolve issues.

  • Conduct spot checks of procurement documentation, financial records, etc.

  • Work with DAI Home Office to ensure Ethics training is provided to all staff.

  • Other duties as assigned by the DCOP-Operations.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in related role required.

  • Relevant experience working on USAID contract in a related role highly preferred.

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office suite) required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Fluency in one of the local languages of Cabo Delgado, such as Mwani, Makua, Makonde, or Swahili.

  • English and Portuguese language skills required.
