Security Coordinator
Background: DAI is an international consulting firm headquartered in the United States with branch offices in Mozambique. DAI is accepting CVs from candidates for a Security Coordinator for the USAID Office of Transitions Initiatives (OTI)-funded Mozambique program.
Position: The Security Coordinator will oversee the physical and informational security of Mozambique OTI activities, assets and staff. This position will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Party-Operations (DCOP-Ops) and be based in Pemba, Mozambique. This is a local hire position and applicants must have the legal right to work in Mozambique.
Responsibilities: The Security Coordinator will:
Attend to/prioritizing staff safety and security and asset protection while working to enable safe staff participation in activities.
Implement project security plans and become accustomed to DAI crisis and incident management response procedures.
Provide training to the office teams in line with the security protocol.
Research and identify emerging threats and risks, and develop threat/vulnerability analysis to complement preparedness, avoidance, response and evacuation programs.
Provide daily verbal and as needed security updates to the project leadership.
Oversee local static and mobile security firm in the regional office.
Provide quality control for local security firm including training, conduct, tactics, and ethics.
Conduct DAI staff security briefings for all incoming staff in the office.
Orchestrate the disposition and dispersal of security related equipment in close down phases of projects.
Liaison with key in-country security coordinating bodies and individuals.
Maintain and improve a coordinated security communication system with all other DAI projects.
Other duties as assigned by the DCOP-Ops.
Qualifications:
University degree in relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in related role required.
Relevant experience working on USAID contract in a related role highly preferred.
Strong computer skills (MS Office suite) required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Networks in Palma and Mocímboa da Praia Districts desirable.
English proficiency and Portuguese language fluency required; Proficiency in languages of Cabo Delgado (such as Mwani, Makua and Makonde) is desirable
